Arogya Vistaar: Transforming Rural Healthcare Access in Gaya, Bihar

The Arogya Vistaar project, launched in April 2025 by IFFCO Kisan Finance, is a flagship CSR initiative aimed at strengthening primary healthcare access in underserved villages of Gaya district, Bihar. Using the Integrated Rural Digi-Physical Healthcare Services (IRDHS) model, the program blends digital innovation with community-based outreach through three core components: a fixed Digital Health Centre (DHC), a mobile Clinic- on-2Wheels (CoTW), and Swasthya Mitras—trained local health facilitators. Over its first four months (April–July 2025), the project delivered 5,170 consultations, surpassing its general physician targets and ensuring continuity of care for rural populations. The DHC served as a trusted hub for diagnostics and teleconsultations, while CoTW extended services to remote hamlets, conducting over 2,500 consultations. Three diagnostic health camps reached 240 beneficiaries, offering vital screenings and building community trust. Swasthya Mitras played a pivotal role in mobilizing households, raising awareness, and addressing gender barriers to care, particularly among women and adolescents. School health camps further expanded outreach, with positive institutional engagement. The clinical insights highlighted that 92% of cases clustered around eight common conditions, emphasizing the need for preventive education. With strong community acceptance, operational efficiency, and innovative grassroots strategies, Arogya Vistaar is positioned to scale its impact and establish sustainable, equitable healthcare delivery in rural Bihar.
